Large Munsterlanders - Care
Large Munsterlanders require little grooming. Combing and brushing their coat once a week can be sufficient to keep it clean and healthy. However, their feathering on the ears, front and hind legs and tail needs tidying up on a regular basis. The dog's coat does need to be checked for ticks.

Your Large Munsterlander should be bathed only when necessary. If you bathe your dog too frequently, it will dry out its skin. The breed does not shed much. During the shedding seasons, give your dog a hand massage to remove the excess hair.
Check the Large Munsterlander's eyes to ensure they are clear and bright. If you notice any redness or swelling of the dog's ears, contact your vet at once.
Keep your dog's nails clipped. A professional groomer can do it for you, if you are afraid of cutting too much and making the nail bleed.
The large size and enthusiasm of the Large Munsterlander need to be somewhat restricted and trained. Large Munsterlanders are not suited for apartment conditions. Obedience and agility training are highly recommended for a Large Munsterlander. These active dogs will be thriving for more activity if you can provide them with an hour walk only. Large Munsterlanders are considered a very healthy breed,
although some lines may be prone to hip dysplasia.
